The Story Behind

Hooligans Retreat

At Hooligans Retreat, it’s not just about the fish — it’s about the people, the place, and the stories that bring them together.

We’ve been coming up to Lake Creek since 2006 — year after year, drawn back by the river, the wild, and the memories made in between casts.

What started as a few buddies on a fishing trip turned into a lifelong love of Alaska. Over time, this place became more than a destination — it became a tradition. A second home. A dream we couldn’t shake.

So we decided to create something special — a place where others could experience the same magic we felt from the very beginning.

Why We created Hooligans Retreat

We created Hooligans for:

  • Friends who need to reconnect

  • Families who want to make memories that matter

  • Teams who need to step away to get stronger

  • Fishermen who live for the line, the fight, and the peace that follows

But mostly, we created it because this river changed our lives — and we believe it can do the same for you.

A Name with Meaning

We named it Hooligans Retreat because… well, that’s what we’ve always called ourselves: a bunch of hooligans chasing fish, dodging mosquitos, telling stories, and soaking up every second of this wild Alaskan beauty.

Now we’re opening the doors and inviting you in. Whether you're a seasoned angler or brand new to the rod, there’s a place for you here.
